Changing Credits.
Since examining our last efforts of editing and our last version 5 of the film we picked up on more things. Last lesson we also watched the beginnings and titles of films in class including Babel, The Bourne identity, Derailed, The life of David Gale and In Bruges. We noticed that the credits in films don't always start in the same position For example in Babel the credits appear on a black screen about a minute into the film likewise with In Bruges. However in Derailed the credits appear during the film over the footage. In my opinion I think more action packed movies look better with black screens and less action packed look better over the footage.
We were thinking ass our film is a horror genre and action packed the credits would look better on a black screen. Watching our movie a few times of our previous draft we decided to keep our credit simple. As we want them on a black screen we decided they shouldn't move. We started of with my name and used the writing Carbon type we downloaded from 'www.1001freefonts.com' This is the same writing used for the title. At first we experimented with other fonts on the mac such as Ariel, and gill sans however these didn't look right and looked pretty boring.
The second thing we noticed was that our names had to we associated with a role. Like most films I have seen the name are associated with roles for example: Directed by Joe Bloggs. We did the same for our names. The first name to appear on the black screen in my'n which the music and lighting role is allocated. The second name to appear is Patricia's which the role of editing is allocated to. Lastly the role of filming is allocated to Danielle. We decided we wanted all the credit to appear before he got to the top of the stairs so the audience could now focus on all the action.
