In this edit we had to make a final drastic change which would change our project form a two minute film to a two minute opening. We thought that it was a two minute film then after minutes of analysing we needed something extra to carry on. We found some footage from previous shootings when Patricia is walking down an ally then we suddenly see the killer appear. We had problems at first with the continuity of some of the footage of the ally as the camera angles changed halfway through. However after scanning our footage we found one that lasted 6 seconds long. We added slow motion effect and changed the brightness and contrast of this clip. To end the opening the music dips down towards the end. If my film were to carry on you would see the killer keep following her and she would be running this is when the music would intensify.

To see what people thought of my final film and any criticisms I showed my film to my form in the morning.

Everyone really liked it and really wished they took media which made me feel positive about my film. No-one really had any criticisms and thought the construction, effects and music all fit in well together. If I could make any changes to my film it would be the music and maybe the ending. As we had no time left to film more or change the music drastically we left it lone. However no-one picked up on this. It's just because I'm a media student and from my point of view these could of been changed to make the film more of an opening.

Creeper - Changes to Production name, telephone call and music

Telephone call.

A film I previously watched started of with the end of the movie. As the film goes on everything starts to fit. We decided to add a video call which we made on the macs. Danielle was the desperate mother who just found her daughter laying in a bath of blood where I was the emergency services. She is saying help, help someone just help, then i say please calm down etc. We added this to the film just after Switch productions appears and this is at the time when the music begins. We decided that it would sound good if there was a ruffling sound and then the call cuts of with 3 beeps we found on garage band.
We found it really difficult to add the sounds to Imovie as you had to get the timing right and we tried about 12 times; eventually it worked. In between the phone call the volume of the call goes up and down just to show she's in panic and ruffling. This starts on a black screen then follows to the title then onto the footage. The call stops after 22 seconds then the film carries on.

Production name

Production name.

In this Edit we had to come up with a name for the production. We were trying to think of so many names, but none seemed to fit the film. From the research in my blogs many films seem to fit the production name for example dream works films are more for children films rates U. We eventually came up with switch productions. There is no justification for this name it just seemed to click, We decided to have this as the first clip the audience would see. Using the font 'you murderer' downloaded from http://www.1001freefonts.com/ this seemed the perfect fit.
We decided you couldn't just have Switch production so we used the phrase 'A film by'. We used carbon type font which is used for the credits as it fits in nicely. We want the name of the production to stand out so we made that large and 'A film by' smaller. This approximately lasts on screen for 4 seconds then wipes of. We chose this transition text as it fast and snappy on a black screen.

Music Changes

Tweeking

Whilst listening to our previous attempt in the film of music. We decided it needed something extra. We found a beat on garage band that plays for 20 seconds form the beginning of the film. Then stop and the sound blood deep comes in then stop and ends with the piano. Now it sounds more upbeat.Secondly whilst miss watched our film she picked up on a few bits like the door sound needed to be lowered as it fuzzy. So we seen to this.

who would distribute 'Creeper?'

‘Creeper’ could be distributed by the New line cinema which is owned by Warner Brothers. New line cinema has distributed a number of psychological, thriller and horror films. The Butterfly Effect is a psychological thriller similar to ours except ‘Creeper’ is a horror/ thriller. The film series Nightmare on Elm Street to epic fantasy trilogy The Lord of the Rings. The films Se7en and Drag Me To Hell which inspired our ideas for creeper are also distributed by New Line cinema.

We’ve decided that our film would be low budget so rather than having a popular distributer like New Line cinemas or a major distributor like Fox we would distribute our film under an independent distributor such as Cineova in London. Cineova company is non-profit organization. Pandora is also a distributor that could distribute our film as they have experience with distributing similar low budget thriller films.Our film could b shown locally in a smaller cinema such as a Phoenix cinema or at a festival. Alternatively I could self distribute on the internet.
